Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Lovena is a private space for two people. This policy explains what we store, why, who else is involved, and what you can do about it. We have tried to keep it plain.
Who we are
Lovena is published on Google Play by Deepjoke Software and on the Apple App Store by Yasin Aydın. In this policy, “we” means the publisher of the copy of Lovena you installed. Both are responsible for your data in the same way and can be reached at lovenacouple@gmail.com.
What we store
Your account: your email address and your password. The password is handled by our authentication provider and is stored only as a one-way hash; we never see it. If you sign in with Apple or Google, no password is created: we receive your email address (with Apple, possibly the private relay address you chose), your name and an account identifier from that service. For Sign in with Apple we also keep a token Apple issues so we can revoke the Apple connection when you delete your account; on deletion it is revoked at Apple and removed from our systems.
Your profile: the name you choose, a profile photo if you add one, and the dates you enter, such as birthdays and your anniversary.
What you create together: notes, photos and albums, instant photos, voice notes, drawings, time capsules, answers to daily questions and quizzes, game moves, your garden, dreams and plans, mood check-ins, special days, visits, and the places you pin on the map. This is the heart of the app, and it is shared only with your partner.
Technical data: a push notification token for your device, your device’s language and time zone, and the app version. These are used to deliver notifications at the right time and in the right language.
Subscription status: if you buy Lovena Plus or Gold, which plan you are on and when it renews. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your card or payment details.
Days of use: which days you open the app. This is used to work out your garden companion’s bond and to send gentle reminders when one of you hasn’t stopped by for a while — so if you stay away for a few days, your partner may get a notification suggesting they leave you a note. Only that you opened the app on a day is kept, not what you did.
Invites: your couple’s friend invite code and how many couples joined with it (not who they are).
Anonymous counts: the optional answer you give when leaving a subscription is counted anonymously, as a number only, not tied to who you are. We don’t use analytics or advertising tools (SDKs), don’t track you across other apps and websites, and don’t build advertising profiles.
Location
Lovena uses location in two places, and only when you use them.
- Love Map: when you pin a place, we store the coordinate you chose and the place’s name. The name is looked up by your phone’s own map service (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android).
- Long-distance mode (optional): if you turn on location, Lovena reads your position only while the app is open — never in the background. Your exact position is stored so that only you can read it. Your partner sees your city and the rounded distance between you, never the spot you are standing on. If you pick a city by hand instead, your stored position is deleted.
- Weather: to show your partner’s weather, our server asks Apple WeatherKit for the weather at your city’s coordinate, rounded to about 11 km. Apple receives only that rounded coordinate, not who you are.
Permissions
Camera, photo library, microphone, location and notification permissions are requested only when you first use the feature that needs them, and are used only for that feature. Nothing is ever recorded in the background. You can revoke any permission in your phone’s settings at any time.
How we use your data
- To run the app: show your shared space to you and your partner, keep it in sync, and store it safely.
- To send the notifications you have asked for, such as a new note from your partner or a reminder about a special day.
- To provide and verify your subscription.
- To keep the service secure and to fix problems.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use your content to train artificial intelligence models.
Who can see it
Only you and the person you have matched with. Every table on our server is protected by row-level security: a request returns data only if the person asking is a member of that couple. Photos and recordings sit in private storage and are only ever opened through short-lived signed links.
Anyone you share your invite code with can match with you and will then see your shared content. Share it only with your partner.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of companies to run Lovena. They process data only on our behalf and only for the purpose listed:
- Supabase — hosting of the database, files, sign-in and server functions.
- Expo, Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivering notifications to your device. The text of a notification passes through them on its way to you.
- RevenueCat — managing subscriptions. It receives an anonymous account identifier and your purchase receipts from Apple or Google.
- Sentry (EU, Germany) — crash reports. When the app crashes or a screen fails, it receives the technical details of the error, the device model and the app version. Your account, e-mail, IP address, notes, photos and drawings are never part of these reports.
- Apple and Google — app distribution, payments, maps (Apple Maps on iPhone, Google Maps on Android) and Apple WeatherKit as described above.
These providers may store data on servers outside your country. Where that happens, they protect it under their own contractual and legal safeguards. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
Data kept on your phone
To keep the app quick, a cache of your recent content and your session are kept on your device; the home-screen widget also stores a few dates to show its counters. On iPhone, so you can send a heart from the widget, a session key valid for at most one hour is shared with the widget in your device’s keychain. These are deleted when you uninstall the app.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Some items — drawings, voice notes, instant photos and puzzles — are kept only for a period that depends on your plan; the app tells you what that period is, and older items are deleted automatically.
When you delete your account, your data is removed from our live systems immediately. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before they are overwritten.
When a connection is ended, the shared space is closed at once and kept for 30 days in case the same two people reconnect; then it is deleted, files included. Either partner can choose to delete it immediately instead.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the European Union or the KVKK in Türkiye — you have the right to access your data, correct it, receive a copy, object to its processing, and have it deleted. Most of this you can do in the app; for everything else, write to us at lovenacouple@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. This deletes your account and the space you shared with your partner — notes, photos, the garden and everything else you created together. Your partner keeps their own account. The app says so clearly before it asks you to confirm. If you only want to leave the relationship, Settings → End the connection closes the shared space without deleting your account. Full details, including how to ask for deletion without the app, are on the account deletion page.
Children
Lovena is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will tell you in the app. The date at the top of this page always shows the version in force.
